Since it’s founding in 1983, Cultural & Educational Media (CEM Productions) has produced several award-winning series for national broadcast on PBS, Link TV, KCET TV (Los Angeles) and other national broadcasters throughout the world. CEM’s television and internet series offer memorable characters and stories, knowledgeable teachers, and intimate journeys into different cultures, wisdom traditions, and worldviews. We are now combining web-based distribution and focused social networking with traditional television broadcast to engage and inspire new audiences worldwide.
Global Spirit Season One
Presented by actor and writer John Cleese, the first season of Global Spirit takes us for an internal journey through universal themes such as forgiveness, creativity, consciousness, oneness, dreams, shamanic healing, musi, and ecstasy with some of the world’s greatest teachers.
Global Spirit Season Two
Presented by musicians Carlos & Cindy Santana, Global Spirit’s second season offers sacred wisdom for troubled times, through programs on storytelling, pilgrimage, community, God, death, love, fear, wisdom, and Rumi, offered by some of the world’s great teachers.
One Through Love
Experience the first cinematic, multi-lingual exploration of the renowned mystical poet Jalaluddin Rumi and his mentor, Shams of Tabriz. This series of mystical teachings, stories, and music-driven love poems draw from an international group of knowledgeable scholars, Sufi teachers, artists, and practitioners from Turkey, Iran, the US, and Europe. With a focus on Divine Love as the central, binding force of all creation, One Through Love explores the artistic beauty and the deeper meanings in the work and lives of Rumi and Shams.
Lunch with Bokara
Over a colorful, sumptuous lunch, chef, spiritual seeker and series host Bokara Legendre brings together well-known scientists, thinkers, and spiritual teachers on topics like meditation, money, compassion, healing, mindfulness, African initiation, personal transformation, activism, and the cosmos. Here, fascinating guests who have never met are brought together for the first time to share their insights, knowledge, and wisdom.
Mosaic
This Peabody award-winning series created a unique news gathering strategy and format for a new kind of non-biased regional news program which was broadcast nationally in the US, five days per week, for over nine years. As part of a Link TV team including Kim Spencer, Jamal Dajani, and David Michaelis, CEM’s President Stephen Olsson created and launched MOSAIC: World News From the Middle East. This regional news digest curated and packaged news and current affairs reports from national broadcasters, as well as people on the ground, throughout the Middle East.
